Chartered on January 1941 and incorporated in 1965, the Berkshire County Board of REALTORS (Board) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(6) corporation. The Board is managed by a paid Chief Executive Officer and an elected Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of Berkshire REALTOR® volunteers that are nominated and elected according to the Bylaws of the Berkshire County Board of REALTORS®.
The Board owns all shares of stock in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) of Berkshire County, which is a for-profit subsidiary corporation. The Board holds ultimate control over the business of the REALTOR organization and the MLS by their role in creation and ratification of governing documents, monetary policies, and those elected to hold office.
