The Center for Ecological Technology (CET) provides practical,
affordable, and environmentally sound solutions to the problems all of us
face each day. CET devotes its resources to four areas
of environmental concerns and assists Berkshire Businesses and Homeowners in
maximizing our energy and natural resources. Check out their resources for
recycling computers, cell phones, paper, buidling energy-star homes
and more. They also have a host of resources for your personal use as well,
such as the re-energy
store, fish advisories and money saving rebates for Berkshire Gas and
Mass Electric convervationists.

The Berkshire
Renewable Energy Collaborative - A group of educators, environmental
and business leaders and citizens whose mission is "to increase energy efficiency
and the responsible use of renewable energy in the Berkshire region." Coordinated
by the Center for Ecological Technology (CET), with support from the Massachusetts
Renewable Energy Trust, Collaborative members are taking a lead role in educating
area residents about renewable energy technology through a variety of activities.
Appalachian Trail in
the Berkshires - Nearly ninety miles of the Appalachian Trail wind
through Berkshire County. Hike for a day or take advantage of the numerous
overnight shelters for long trips. Explore the natural world of mountains,
streams, lakes and forests in the hills of western Massachusetts.
Berkshire Botanical Garden - 15 acres of intimate
landscapes and display gardens. Educational programs, events, gift shop.

Grown - Support for our local farms by taking advantage of our areas
locally raised and produced food, flowers and plants, through farmer's
markets and the long list of businesses who participate. Community membership
organization dedicated to supporting local food and farms. Members have
pledged to support local farms and the stunning land they preserve by buying
locally-grown and locally-produced food and flowers.
Mohawk Trail Association - Visit the
Mohawk Trail in western MA for hiking, biking, outdoor recreation, rafting,
beautiful scenery, fall foliage at its best and great shopping, lodging and
dining.
Pleasant Valley
Wildlife Sanctuary - Seven miles of trails. 1500 acres of natural beauty.
Nature programs, including naturalist guided canoe trips offered.
