Refinancing a Mortgage

Typically, it pays to refinance a home if interest rates are at least two percentage points lower than what is currently paid. However, every situation is different. Some lenders are offering reduced fees or no points.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Secretary's Office has developed a Mortgage Refinancing Worksheet that acts as a guide to help estimate if a refinanced is worth it and what the refinanced payment amount would be.
