Nominating Committees:

  • Board Nominating Committee:

Comprised of the Past President of the Assocation and 4 REALTORS at large, this committee annually meets to select a slate of officers for the coming year. The positions they seek to fill are: President, President elect, Vice President, Secretary & Treasurer.

  • North Council Nominating Committee:

Comprised of the Past President of the Council and 4 REALTORS in Northern Berkshire, this committee annually meets to select a slate of north council leaders. The positions they seek to fill are: North Council President, North Council Vice President, and a North Council Director.

  • Central Council Nominating Committee:

Comprised of the Past President of the Council and 4 REALTORS in Central Berkshire, this committee annually meets to select a slate of council leaders. The positions they seek to fill are: Central Council President, Central Council Vice President, and two Central Council Directors, depending on vacancies.

  • South Council Nominating Committee:

Comprised of the Past President of the Council and 4 REALTORS in Southern Berkshire, this committee annually meets to select a slate of council leaders. The positions they seek to fill are: South Council President, South Council Vice President, and two South Council Directors, depending on vacancies.

  • MLS Nominating Committee:

Comprised of the Past Presdient of MLS as the Chair and 4 other Participants (broker-owners / DR's) of the service, this committee annually meets to select the entire slate of the MLS Board of Directors. They seek to fill the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer office positions and 4 other director slots, depending on vacancies. Directors positions are staggered, so there are never 4 slots open in any given year. They have requirements regarding the makeup of this board that they must adhere.

  • REALTOR of the Year Selection Committee

This committee, appointed by the President of the Board, consists of 5 previous REALTOR of the YEAR award winners. Tehy reviw the submissions received by the Board Office from the nominations received by the membership. After reviewing the material, based on 5 different criteria points (Local Assocation Service, State Assocation Service, National Assocation Service, Community Involvement and Business accomplishments) they select the REALTOR of the Year for the Berkshire County Board of REALTORS.

  • Good Neighbor of the Year Selection Committee

This committee, comprised of council presidents of each region in our assocation and past GN Award winners, reviews all submissions and determines who will be our Good Neighbor of the Year. they base their decision on outstanding community service in Berkshire County.

Task Forces of the Board & MLS frequently are employed to work on concrete issues that need immediate solutions. These groups meet in limited numbers for a limited time to accomplish a clear and achievable goal.

Some examples of Task Forces include:

  • Contract Revision Task Force
  • MLS Fields Task Force
  • Website Marketing Task Force
  • Website Revenue Task Force
  • Assocaiton Building Task Force

The Board also uses workgroups to accomplish a mission of the Board. The difference is that a workgroup tends to extend longer than a very definateive task force, but does not need to be a 'standing committee' of the Board. Many times, a workgroup is carried over into a new year in order to fully accomplish what they set out to do.

Once a leader is appointed to a workgroup, he/she will remain the leader, even in a new Presidency. (a president can always sunset the workgroup at any time) Therefore, you will see the same leader for the life that that group.

Examples of Workgroups include:

  • Professionalism Workgroup
  • Newcomer Magazine Workgroup.
